Nearest Town:

Duns

History:

The County Town of Duns lies in the heart of Berwickshire. The town overlooks the Merse, the low lying rich farmlands away from the coast, and provides a quiet haven away from the busy traffic routes east and west. To the east lies the Berwickshire coastline, to the north are the Lammermuir Hills, and to the south the Cheviot Hills. With streets radiating from the Mercat Cross in the square, narrow closes, distinctive architecture and individual family run shops, Duns retains the atmosphere of an old Scottish burgh.
