History:

Peebles lies in the Upper Tweed valley surrounded by hills and forests. The town has a long history, the ruined Cross Kirk, standing high above Eddleston Water, was founded in 1261. Nearby is Neidpath Castle, Kailzie Gardens and Dawyck Botanic Gardens. In recent years the town has grown as a commercial centre and is a commuter town for Edinburgh.
